Certificate of Merit

MCC Certificate of Merit recipient Tony CharltonThe Certificate of Merit was instituted to recognise those MCC members who had rendered outstanding service to the club but who may not, for whatever reason, be considered for Honorary Life Membership or the Hans Ebeling Award.

In effect, it is an intermediate “gong” that enables the club to formalise its appreciation of special contributors.

Anyone may nominate a member for a Certificate of Merit. The nominee is considered by the committee and if deemed appropriate is presented with the framed certificate at a club function.

One member, Brian Adams, has received both a Hans Ebeling Award (tennis) and a Certificate of Merit, the latter in recognition of his magnificent contribution to the Long Room Wine and Food Society.

The complete list of Certificate of Merit recipients is:

• Percy Sitch
• Geoff Swan
• Dudley Phillips
• Brian Adams
• Tony Charlton
• Rob Jenkins
