AUSTRALIA’S aggressive approach with bat and ball will prove too difficult for “little brother” New Zealand to handle in the World Cup final, writes Ian Chappell.

IT may be a Cricket World Cup final but Richard Hinds still attempts to move the sledging of New Zealand beyond those childish sheep jokes.

BEFORE he scaled the dizzy heights of world cricket, Brendon McCullum was jumping the fence of the Forbury Park trotting track in the tough streets of South Dunedin.

NEW Zealand is awash with emotion ahead of the World Cup final. Babies names, Martin Crowe and Michael Clarke’s retirement are all centre of attention.

Bowls

Membership of the MCC Bowls Section is open to all MCC members (male and female) and any MCC members wishing to join the section will be heartily welcomed.

Non-MCC members can also join and enquiries from bowlers wishing to take advantage of our excellent facilities and play bowls with a fantastic group of people will always be welcomed.

The section has four greens at two facilities in Hawthorn. Headquarters at Swinburne Avenue has two grass greens.

The Glen Street complex has a grass green and a carpet green, the latter being available for bowls all year round. Excellent clubhouse facilities are provided at both locations.

The club fields eight sides in Saturday Bowls Victoria Metropolitan Pennant, four sides in Tuesday Bowls Victoria Metropolitan Pennant, one side in Tuesday Evening Pennant in the Eastern Ranges Competition, two sides in the Wednesday evening Inner City Pennant Competition and three sides in the Inner City Winter Pennant Competition.
