A WORLD record in the pool and a fifth Games gold for Anna Meares headlines a great start for Australia at the Commonwealth Games.

ANNA Meares shows her strength to the world in all sorts of ways — sometimes just cooking a plain old barbecue sausage.

WORLD EXCLUSIVE: Frank Lampard will not come to Melbourne City. A touted guest stint for the 106-cap England star has fallen flat amid his New York move.

AUSSIE sensation Dante Exum says he wants to play NBA straight away and will use the FIBA World Cup to launch into his rookie season with Utah.

VINCENZO Nibali has confirmed his supremacy at the Tour de France with his fourth stage victory in the 18th stage from Pau to Hautacam.

The National Golf ClubFollowing the success of the annual MCC Members’ Golf Day at Kingston Heath in 1998, an MCC Golf Club was established as a special interest group.

Its immediate popularity and solid membership growth warranted its elevation to MCC Sporting Section status in 2003.

The Golf Section is a wandering club, playing monthly at premier Victorian courses such as Kingston Heath, Royal Melbourne, Yarra Yarra, The National, Commonwealth and Huntingdale. We also do overseas golf tours, typically to Hong Kong and London to play official matches against golfers from those respective Cricket Clubs. Perpetual trophies are played for.

As at December 31, 2013, there were 324 members of the MCC Golf Section (284 male and 40 female). We welcome additional members, upon payment of the $75 joining fee and $50 annual fee due on January 1 each year. If joining after June 30 in any year, the first annual subscription is $25 for the remainder of that year.
