The MCC hockey girls score another goal

The MCC Hockey Section was established in 1961 and savoured immediate success when it won both the B Grade and C Grade premierships in the Victorian Amateur Hockey Association that year.

The club played at Albert Park from 1962 before establishing a ground at Melbourne High School in 1995. In 1989 the Section fielded women’s teams for the first time after Nunawading and McKinnon amalgamated and agreed to play under the banner of the MCC.

The women’s team soon became a power, winning the 1992 and 1993 premierships and again being successful a decade later. Meantime the men had also made their mark, winning State League 2 premierships in 1988 and 2003.

The Section fields more than 20 teams catering for men, women, juniors and veterans. It is proud to have a number of current and past Australian reps (Senior, U/21 & Masters) as well as many state junior and senior representatives at the club.

MCC's home venue (one of Melbourne's best-kept grounds) is situated in the grounds of Melbourne High School, located in Alexandra Avenue, South Yarra.
