    Hong Kong CC Tour
    April 2014

Squash had nine members (six players and three non-players) travel to Hong Kong for the sporting sections tour. Squash was played on the Friday and Saturday at HKCC. MCC was successful in winning four matches to two.

After our matches, we were treated to an entertaining exhibition match between two international players, and then gifts were exchanged between players and officials. This was followed by an amazing buffet dinner and drinks in the sportsman bar, sponsored by the HKCC Squash Section.

We were very impressed by the outstanding club facilities and the great camaraderie that we shared with all their members. We also enjoyed the interaction with all the other sporting sections, and enjoyed supporting their competitions. We look forward to hosting the HKCC in the not too distant future.

    24-Hour Mega Squash
    April 2014

MCC Squash was a major part of the 24-hour Mega Squash held at MSAC in Albert Park last weekend. This program was held to raise funds for scholarships and financial assistance for people suffering multiple sclerosis (MS). With a number of MCC squash section players involved, our club came second overall in raising over $8,000, truly an amazing effort. Nick Barrett was second in the individual section raising over $1800. The section thanks Stephen Blamey (our match and pennant chairman) for arranging our playing team, and also for the full year of fund raising with his coaching program for our players. The other players were Vanessa Pickerd, Janine Rielly, Alex Troop, Jaan Simpson, Bill Healy, Ian Wisel, Phillip Thomas, Marco Thomas, Marco Epifano, Aldo Montalto and Peter Wright.

Player Milestones - Congratulations to the following players having reached significant milestones for matches played for MCC Squash – Ian Windust (904 matches), John Faul (801), Scott Copeland (401), David Mutimer (304) and Sam Kyriacou (203).
