Full-bore rifle shooting uses 7.62 or 5.56 calibre target rifles, shot over distances from 300 metres to 900 metres.
The range is at Anakie, about 40 minutes drive south and west of Melbourne. Arguably the most modern, state of the art range in Australia, with all weather air conditioned / heated shooting positions. Shooting is held from about 12.00 noon on Saturdays.

History
Full-bore Target Rifle shooting became popular in the mid-19th century, where it was closely associated with patriotism and The Queen's Prize.
Some of the traditions remain, but todays target rifle is at the forefront of precision technology and todays succesful shooter maintains their physical well-being, alertness and most importantly, mental control in peak condition.
Entry to the sport is through Rifle Clubs which provide basic training, practice competition and social interaction for the recreational shooter.
The MCC Rifle Club has a current membership which includes recent Under-25 and Veteran members of Australian Teams and has rifles and equipment available to introduce newcomers to the sport. We shoot on Saturdays at the Anakie Range at distances from 300 to 900 metres.
