2011 AFL Finals Series

AFL PRELIMINARY FINALS

The MCG will host two matches in the third week of the 2011 AFL Finals Series:

First Preliminary Final

  • Friday September 23 - Collingwood v Hawthorn - 7.45pm
    MCC gates open: 4.30pm - VISITOR TICKETS AND RESERVED SEATS SOLD OUT

Second Preliminary Final

  • Saturday September 24 - Geelong Cats v West Coast - 2.20pm
    MCC gates open: 11.00am - BUY TICKETS

Visitor tickets and reserved seats will go on sale to MCC members on Monday September 19 at midday through Ticketek or in person at the Membership Services Office.

Seat ticket distribution

In addition to the normal arrangements on levels 2 and 3, seat tickets will be issued on Level 1 in the walk-up seating areas for both preliminary finals.

Once the gates are open, members and guests are asked to remain in their seats until issued with a reserved seat ticket by an attendant. If arriving later in the evening, please report to a staff member in the bays to obtain available seat tickets.

Members are reminded that seats on all levels cannot be saved for people not in attendance.

Visitor Tickets
Update: Monday September 19 at 12.31pm

Visitor tickets and reserved seats for Collingwood v Hawthorn have SOLD OUT.

A maximum of two visitor tickets per member is available for the Geelong Cats-West Coast match through Ticketek.

Visitor tickets cost $123 (adults) and $35 (children under 15).  Children under the age of six are admitted free as long as they are accompanied by an adult.

Prices are inclusive of GST and all fees except for a one-off transaction fee – $8.75 (phone), $7.40 (web mail), $5.10 (web print at home) and $6.15 (agency).

Reserved Seats

More than 6000 reserved seats on levels 1 and 4 will be available for members and their guests for both matches. 

Reserved seats cost $10 (adults) and $5 (children under 15) and will go on sale to members on Monday September 19 at 12.00pm.

Please note that reserved seats purchased for guests must also be accompanied by a visitor ticket.

There will be no Long Room or Balcony passes available for either match.

Members Dining Room 

The Members Dining Room is booked out for both preliminary finals.

A Main Event package is available in the Yarra Park Room for the Geelong Cats v West Coast match on Saturday September 24. Please phone the club on 9657 8888 to make a booking.

Members are only entitled to one registration in the ballot. Duplicate registrations will be excluded.

A reserved seat on Level 2 is part of the Members Dining Room package during the early finals, but this does not apply for the grand final. All other dining conditions that existed during the home and away season will apply for the finals.

Overseas Members

Overseas members returning for the 2011 AFL finals series will be required to pay an admission fee to attend all AFL finals series matches. Entry is subject to the conditions of an overseas member’s short stay whereby a member will be required to submit a flight itinerary for their stay in Australia. Ticket prices are as follows:

Qual/Elim Finals:         $58
Semi Finals :               $58
Preliminary Finals:       $108
Grand Final:                $245
*Price of entry is per match the member wishes to attend

Finals ticketing can be obtained by:
    - Completing the finals ticketing request form (available shortly) and 
       returning to the club with the member's flight itinerary.
    - Visiting the Membership Services Office (open Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 5.00pm).
    - Visiting the membership services windows at Gate 2 on a match day
       upon presentation of flight itinerary (long delays may be experienced on match day).

Overseas members will be able to purchase visitor tickets to weeks 1 – 3 of the AFL finals series (subject to availability).

The MCC advises that an overseas member send their travel itinerary to membership@mcc.org.au at least 48 hours prior to the on-sale date for visitor tickets for activation of their membership barcode with Ticketek.

Payment of 2011/12 subscription fees (due by August 31, 2011) will be required before being admitted for AFL finals series matches.

Reciprocal Members

Normal access arrangements apply for members of overseas reciprocal clubs for all finals matches. 

Etihad Stadium’s Axcess One members, VRC members and members of interstate reciprocal clubs/venues do not have entry entitlements during the AFL finals series.
