    Sheffield Shield match abandoned

    Update: Wednesday November 26, 2014 at 9.30am

Cricket Australia advises that the current round of Sheffield Shield has been abandoned.

Following consultation with the players and the Australian Cricketers’ Association, the Victoria v Western Australia match at the MCG and the Queensland v Tasmania match at Allan Border Field have been abandoned this morning.

This follows yesterday's abandonment of the New South Wales v South Australia at the SCG match in which South Australian batsman Phillip Hughes was seriously injured.

Under CA’s Playing Conditions, one point will be given to each team in an abandoned match.
