AS a nation struggled to process the death of a much-loved cricketer, one man made a simple gesture that soon turned into a global juggernaut.

UPDATE: Jordan Spieth has produced a scratchy even-par 71 to launch his title defence at the Emirates Australian Open. Adam Scott is now on course.

THE Kiwi skipper is one of the most damaging batsmen in the world. But his record against Australia is less than convincing.

AMERICANS have reacted with shock to the shooting of NFL star Stedman Bailey, who copped two bullets to the head while sitting in a car.

THERE is no pressure quite like being the supremely talented grandson of the greatest athlete of all time.
