    Women In Sport

A new event added to our calendar, Women in Sport was designed to celebrate all that is great about female athletes.

This function will be different every year and can be held either at the MCC or at an external location. Our function includes a two course specially selected menu with a full beverage service.

This event provides us the opportunity to showcase the contributions made to our sporting industry by women from all different sports.

2013 saw us celebrate female Olympians with Tales from the Olympic Starting Line. Our Olympians included: Shelley Chaplin – wheelchair basketball, Leanne Del Toso - wheelchair basketball, Elise Rechichi - sailing, Danielle Woodward – slalom kayak, Loudy Wiggins - diving and Liz Cambage - basketball. Our panel host for the evening was Tiffany Cherry.

We also had our own WOMCC Committee member Margot Foster who was a member of the crew which won Australia its first Olympic medal in women’s rowing. Margot played the important role as stroke and she stroked the coxed four to a bronze medal at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles.
This year was a networking event only however, future events will combine networking and fundraising depending on the format of the function.

Please support this function and book early so as not to miss out.
