PHILLIP Hughes’ tragic death rocked Australian cricket to core, but the popular batsman would have been proud of his former teammates for their courageous summer.

AUSTRALIAN captain Michael Clarke arrived at the MCG on Sunday an hour before the team bus even rolled out of the hotel.

ONE of the Hunter Valley’s leading thoroughbred studs is expected to complete the purchase of unbeaten Golden Slipper winner Vancouver this week in a deal which values the colt at more than $40 million.

AMID Michael Clarke’s fairytale it was easy to forget that it was another odds-defying fighter who will go down in the record books as man-of-the-match.

JAMES Faulkner was man of the match while some big name Kiwis went missing in a one-sided World Cup final. See how every player rated.

    CRICKET LEGEND PASSES ON TIPS

Former Australian fast bowler and current Australia women's head coach, Cathryn Fitzpatrick, was a welcome guest at MCC women's cricket training at the Albert Ground on January 21, 2015.

Fitzpatrick played 13 Tests and 109 one-day matches for Australia between 1991 and 2006 and was widely regarded as the fastest female bowler of her time.

Before her appoinment as Australia coach two years ago, she was an assistant coach as well as head coact of VicSpirit.

The MCC is extremely appreciative of the time 'Fitzy' spent with the players, both one-on-one and in groups, and it is hoped her pearls of wisdom can be put into good effect by our girls in the lead up to the finals.
