How to Join the XXIX Club

The XXIX Club with the President's XI trophy at the Albert Ground in 2007All members of the Melbourne Cricket Club and those playing members on the waiting list are eligible for XXIX membership, subject to acceptance by the Committee of a nomination form supported by a proposer and a seconder, each of whom is required to be a financial member of the XXIX Club of at least 12 month’s standing.

The function of the club is to foster the enjoyment of cricket largely by arranging matches and other social events.

The mid-week games, usually played on Wednesday afternoons at the Albert Ground should be of particular interest as an opportunity to get extra match practice in the best conditions in Australia.

There is an entrance fee of $50 and the annual subscription is $50 which is payable on October 1 each year and should be sent to our Treasurer, Phil Halbish, C/- MCC, PO Box 175, East Melbourne, 8002.  Cheques should be made payable to the MCC XXIX Club.

New silk club ties ($50.00) are available from secretary John McCormick, whose telephone number is 9830 2440 (after hours).

Members are urged to encourage others to join. We are particularly keen to swell the ranks of those whose interest in cricket is not confined to spectatorship.
