AUSTRALIA’S Ashes campaign is in crisis after capitulating to the brink of one of their most humiliating defeats — but there is one reason to be optimistic.

A-LEAGUE clubs will soon be permitted to sign two international players outside of the salary cap, with Football Federation Australia considering a major change to the marquee structure.

NRL referees are often accused of being too chicken to make a decision. And it turns out the Colonel is the big winner when refs take the easy option.

THE decision to effectively end Brad Haddin’s career has polarised former Australian greats, but Rod Marsh is adamant selectors had no other choice.

MELBOURNE United will play six consecutive home games in its first seven matches after the NBL 2015-16 draw was released on Thursday.

Non-Event Day Dining

One of the lesser-known privileges of being a MCC member is the opportunity to avail yourself and your guests of the top-notch function and dining facilities on offer at the MCG on non-event days.

Members can book fabulous locations such as the Members Dining Room, Long Room or Bullring Bar for private functions with a touch of class. Please note that use of the Long Room for private functions requires approval from the MCC Committee.

An excellent a la carte luncheon is served in the Committee Room on Level 2 of the Members Reserve, adjacent to the Long Room, on all weekday non-event days.

And while you're here, why not treat yourself and your guests to a visit to the National Sports Museum, featuring some of the finest artefacts, people and moments in Australia's sporting history.
