WHILE the clash between Manchester City and Chelsea dominates the weekend’s EPL action, a couple of other big guns are in for an uncomfortable ride.

TENNIS star Rafael Nadal was challenged to test his poker bluffing game and gave some unsuspecting travellers the ride of their lives.

LI NA, a two-time Grand Slam champion from China who took tennis in Asia to a new level, has retired due to recurring knee injuries.

LLEYTON Hewitt’s hopes of securing a third Davis Cup trophy appear doomed after Australia was condemned to a first-round away clash with Czech Republic.

STEPHANIE Gilmore thrust herself back in the world title race with a perfect 10 and a defeat of compatriot Sally Fitzgibbons at the Swatch Pro in California today.

Members' Private Functions

One of the lesser-known privileges of being a MCC member is the opportunity to avail yourself and your guests of the top-notch function facilities on offer at the MCG.

Members can book fabulous locations such as the Members Dining Room, Long Room or Bullring Bar for private functions with a touch of class. Please note that approval to use the Long Room for private functions requires approval from the MCC Committee.

So if you or a family member have a special occasion coming up, whether it’s a wedding, 50th birthday, engagement or even the office Christmas party, then the MCG with its myriad of fine facilities could be the place for you. There are more than 20 function rooms or spaces available with capacities ranging from 80 to 1000.

The MCG is more than a sports stadium. It’s now a large, user-friendly venue with rooms, spaces, resources and under-cover parking for 600 cars that put it in the upper echelon of function centres in Melbourne.

For bookings and inquiries, please contact Epicure on (03) 9284 2340 or functions.mcg@epicure.com.au .
