UPDATE: THE live-baiting scandal took another turn on Thursday night when five Queensland greyhound trainers were banned for life and 28 NSW greyhounds were barred from racing.

AUSTRALIA’S richest woman Gina Rinehart has saved one of the country’s most iconic sports pledging millions to become major sponsor of the swim team.

MICHAEL Clarke’s current dynamic with Darren Lehmann appears removed from the touching gesture that bound an “old bloke” and young Pup in India a decade earlier.

SOUTH Africa captain AB de Villiers excelled at a number of sports but ultimately settled on cricket. And isn’t the game - and fans - eternally grateful.

Non-Event Day Dining

One of the lesser-known privileges of being a MCC member is the opportunity to avail yourself and your guests of the top-notch function and dining facilities on offer at the MCG on non-event days.

Members can book fabulous locations such as the Members Dining Room, Long Room or Bullring Bar for private functions with a touch of class. Please note that use of the Long Room for private functions requires approval from the MCC Committee.

An excellent a la carte luncheon is served in the Committee Room on Level 2 of the Members Reserve, adjacent to the Long Room, on all weekday non-event days.

And while you're here, why not treat yourself and your guests to a visit to the National Sports Museum, featuring some of the finest artefacts, people and moments in Australia's sporting history.
