Gavin Hooper is the MCC's 2009 premier tipster
Posted: Monday August 31, 2009

Gavin Hooper has come from behind in sensational fashion to win the inaugural MCC members’ online AFL footy tipping competition, in the process walking away with a new Sharp television.

Hooper, an Essendon supporter from Ringwood who has been an MCC member for 15 years, tipped all eight winners in the final round to come from one point down to defeat Vincent D’Angelo by one.

D’Angelo tipped six in the final round to fall back into second place, having been at or near the top of the leader board for much of the season.  The final standings were:

First prize                      Gavin Hooper                                 134
Second prize                Vincent D’Angelo                           133
Third prize                    Newcastle Demon                         132
Fourth prize                  Hawker                                             131

Thanks for playing!
