In 2011, School Sport Victoria (SSV) in partnership with AFL Victoria initiated the Premier League for our Australian Football Senior Boys competition.
The Premier League consisted of eight schools that competed in an elite level competition.
The inaugural participating schools were Ballarat High School, Bendigo Senior Secondary College, Box Hill Senior Secondary College, Christian College Sale, Essendon Keilor College, Hallam Senior College and Wodonga Senior Secondary College.
Hallam Senior College and Essendon Keilor College played off in semi finals and won the right to play and met again on the MCG in this year Premier League Grand Final. Hallam Senior looked in control of the match in each quarter keeping Essendon Keilor College at bay.
SSV wishes to thank AFL Victoria and the Melbourne Cricket Club Foundation for offering the students from these schools the opportunity to showcase their talents on Melbourne’s most well known sporting stage.
