Parking update: Essendon v Carlton today

    Aug 18, 2012

    UPDATE: Saturday August 18, 2012 at 8.25am

Due to its wet condition, Yarra Park will not be used for public or MCC member vehicle parking at the Essendon-Carlton AFL match at the MCG today.

However, the following groups will be permitted to access Gate 3 or 7 upon presentation of a valid car park pass or staff identification:

    • Disabled patrons
    • MCC Events Staff
    • Victoria Police
    • St John Ambulance
    • Media with AFL accreditation
    • Corporate guests with car parking passes
    • Competing clubs with car parking passes.

The Melbourne Cricket Club (MCC), manager of Yarra Park, has assessed the park's condition and determined that the majority of the park would risk damage if used for vehicles today.

The MCC encourages patrons to use public transport where possible.

Anyone driving to the MCG should seek an alternative parking area in Melbourne's CBD and surrounding inner suburbs.
