New appointment to MCC Committee

The Melbourne Cricket Club (MCC) is pleased to advise that Fred Oldfield has been appointed to the MCC Committee. 

Mr Oldfield fills a casual vacancy created by the retirement of Peter Mitchell last year.

Fred Oldfield 

Mr Oldfield is currently a non-executive director at Westbourne Capital, a funds management company that invests in infrastructure debt. 

Prior to this, Mr Oldfield spent two years in the legal profession (1981-1983), before spending 16 years with investment bank Potter Partners, which ultimately became UBS.

Mr Oldfield was also executive director of Hopkins Partners Funds Management (1999-2001) and manager of strategic development and stakeholder relations at Transurban (2001-2006).

An MCC member since 1982, Mr Oldfield serves as a trustee of the Melbourne Football Club's Red and Blue Foundation and Bequest Program. He has been president of Glen Iris Junior Football Club for the past two seasons.

President Paul Sheahan said he was delighted to welcome Mr Oldfield to the committee table.

The MCC Committee now comprises the maximum 14 members: Paul Sheahan (president), David Crawford (vice-president), Steven Smith (vice-president), Stephen Spargo (vice-president), Michael Happell (treasurer), David Crow, Peter Dakin, Will Fowles, Jane Nathan, Fred Oldfield, Charles Sitch, Mark Smith, Karen Wood and Ted Yencken.
