The MCC’s excellent fine dining offerings at the MCG received further recognition when Epicure chefs Aaron Duffy and Deniz Karaca won Clubs Victoria’s Chef's Table Fine Dining Gold Medal on Sunday night.
The award is an annual event open to chefs from clubs across Victoria. Entrants must complete written submissions made up of two sections: a menu and kitchen procedures.
Judges considered factors such as menu structure and composition, seasonality of produce used, menu spelling and grammar, costing accuracy and food and wine matching, progressiveness of the procedures and their benefits and food safety and hygiene practices.
Aaron Duffy is chef de cuisine in the MCC Members Reserve, while Deniz Karaca is chef de cuisine pastry at the MCG.
Their victory makes it back-to-back success for Epicure’s MCG chefs after Blair Humphrey and Adriano Biondi took out the same award last year.
