THE immediate reactions were shock and sadness from across the globe as news of Phillip Hughes’ tragic death filtered through on Thursday.

    AUSTRALIAN cricketer Phillip Hughes has died after being struck in the head while batting at the Sydney Cricket Ground. He was 25.

    PHILLIP Hughes has died from head injuries suffered on Tuesday when he was hit in the head by a bouncer at the SCG. He was days from his 26th birthday.

    IT is doubtful whether any incident has caused more widespread grief in Australian cricket than the loss of one of the game’s most likeable characters.

    MCC Netball is pleased to advise that expressions of interest for the 2014 Parkville Netball Competition Autumn Season are now open.

    The aim of MCC Netball is to provide opportunities for members to play sport as part of the MCC, and also now for non-members to play in a higher competition.

    We encourage players interested in participating both socially and competitively to register for our October trials, dates and venues indicated below.

    Please note that selection for Tuesday’s Premier Division team is open to all players, both MCC members and non-members.

    An MCC membership is required to participate in teams in lower competition grades.
