    The 177th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Melbourne Cricket Club was held on Wednesday August 13, 2014 in the Members Dining Room. 

    President Paul Sheahan, treasurer Michael Happell and CEO Stephen Gough addressed the meeting and spoke to their reports contained in the 2013/14 Annual Report.

    One committee member – Peter King – stood for re-election by rotation. Will Fowles retired at the AGM, having completed his term on the committee. 

    Michael Andrew, Kim Brewer, Matthew Fowles, John Mugavin and Christopher Stolz presented themselves for election via the ballot process.

    The results of the election were announced at the meeting and were as follows:

    A highlight of the meeting was the awarding of MCC Honorary Life membership to Bob Lloyd.

    A former first-class cricketer with South Australia who relocated to play for the MCC First XI (and eventually coach the club and then Victoria), Bob’s commitment to the club and MCC cricket over several decades is unmatched. 

    He was a member of the Cricket Sub-committee for 28 years, chairman of selectors (1991/92-2001/02) and was a Cricket Victoria delegate for 24 years. He was MCC Cricket chairman (2004-2011) and a member of the XXIX Club committee for nearly 30 years.

    In 2004, he received the Hans Ebeling Award for recognition of his outstanding service to the club and its sporting sections.

    During general business, members posed a number of operational questions to which the president, CEO and senior management responded.
