Ownership of property such as trophies, photographs, honour boards and sporting memorabilia is set out in the Sporting Section Affiliation Agreement ‘2.4 Sporting property’ as follows:
2.4 Sporting property
(a) The Section acknowledges that ownership in such of the Sections sporting records, honour boards, trophies and sporting memorabilia as are reasonably designated by the Club as being of historical significance to the Club, belongs to the Club.
(b) The Section is entitled to possession and custody of those sporting records, honour boards, trophies and sporting memorabilia during the term of this agreement. The Section will provide such trophies and sporting memorabilia as the Club may request from time to time for display by the Club.
(c) The Section will with the assistance of the Club maintain and repair all sporting records, honour boards, trophies and sporting memorabilia and keep them safe and secure.
It is understood that there are occasions or circumstances where the sporting section does not wish to, or is unable to, retain objects such as trophies and photographs.

In essence, it covers objects that may either be loaned or donated to the club for:
• Storage
• MCC Museum display
• Members Reception Atrium case display
• Hans Ebeling Room display case
• Bourke St display
• Heritage and Tourism Department special exhibitions.
If the sporting sections have an object that it would like to loan or donate to the club, a preliminary information form called MCC Sporting Section object for offer to the MCC Heritage Collections is to be completed and forwarded as set out.
