Information for families

The Members' Reserve is a family-friendly area, offering a range of facilities for parents and their children to enjoy their day at the ‘G.

Parent Room

The Parent Room is located inside the members’ entrance at Gate 2 on Level 1 behind bay M42, adjacent to Tower 6.

The room has baby change tables, cubicles with lounge chairs for breastfeeding, nappy disposal units, TV, power point, sink, toilets and a microwave.

If your child is unable to use the public toilets on their own, but is too old to use the toilets of the opposite sex with you, the Parent Room is an ideal alternative.

To minimise misuse, the Parents’ Room in the MCC Members' Reserve is kept locked on event day. If you need to use this room, please ask a nearby member of staff for assistance.

A full list of baby change table locations within the MCC Members' Reserve can be found here.

Safeguarding Children and Young People at the MCC and MCG

All children and young people visiting or engaging with Melbourne Cricket Club (MCC) and the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) have the right to feel and be safe, respected, valued and protected from harm.

The MCC is strongly committed to the safety and wellbeing of all children and young people within the venues we manage and through engagement in our programs. We aim to create enriching experiences for young patrons and want children to feel safe, happy and empowered by their connection to the MCC.

We create and maintain a child safe environment. The welfare of children and young people is a top priority, and we have zero tolerance for child abuse or any behaviours that threaten the safety and wellbeing of children.

We are committed to the principles of cultural safety of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, culturally and linguistically diverse children, and to the safety of children with a disability. We recognise that these support the safety of all children. We recognise that acting to protect and maintain the safety of children is a responsibility of all staff members, and we foster a culture of openness that supports all people to safely disclose risks of harm to children.

The MCC will take all necessary steps to prevent and protect children from physical, sexual, emotional, psychological, and cultural abuse and neglect. This includes protecting children from other children and patrons.

Babies in arms

Children under the age of 6 are admitted free-of-charge into the MCC Members' Reserve as long as they do not occupy a seat. If you wish for your child to occupy a separate seat, you can purchase a junior reserved seat ticket for them for the match.

Wristbands for children

The MCG has Kids Connection wristbands available free of charge. Wristbands are available at the public enquiry counter at the Stadium Management Centre, (Level B1, Ponsford Stand) and the Membership Services Office.

Parents can write either their mobile number or seat location on the back of the wristband. If their child gets lost we can call or locate mum or dad quickly.

Getting children reunited with parents quickly will reduce stress levels of parents and children who get separated while at the ground. This is a free service and parents of small children should be encouraged to get a wristband for their child.

Prams and strollers

The Club acknowledges that many of our members require prams or strollers for ease of access to the ground and do not wish to dissuade customers by making it too difficult to come to the MCG.

However, inside the stadium prams may become a health and safety risk to other patrons. Prams and strollers are permitted within the stadium. They can be placed in seating areas if they can be folded and placed under the seats or away from seating as long as they do not present a safety hazard to customers.

If they cannot be folded they can be cloaked at the Customer Service Office at M57 or the Stadium Management Centre on level B1, adjacent to Bill Lawry Indoor Cricket Centre.

Prams can also be placed in wheelchair accessible bays, however, disability bays are only to be used as long as the bays have not been pre-sold as reserved seats and if not required by patrons with a disability. Preference must be given to them at any time. Patrons are asked to comply with staff requests at all times.
