As of January 2020 the MCC Squash section has moved from Hunts in Fitzroy to Melbourne Sports Centre at Albert Park.
The MCC Squash section was founded in 1968 and originally played out of two courts located in the Ponsford Stand at the MCG.
With the redevelopment of the northern stand in 2002 these courts were demolished and since then the Squash Section has played out of a number of different locations including the RACV Club, Club Hawthorn and Goodlife Health Clubs, Fitzroy.
The section has been home to a number of champions including current chairman Peter Wright AOM - Hans Ebeling recipient, World Masters Champion and 'Legend' of the MCC Squash section, our Treasurer, Bill Henderson - Hans Ebeling recipient and our past Chairman Eric Beissel - Hans Ebeling recipients.
The Squash section has 18 teams in three different competitions - Club Circuit, State Grade and SSL Pennant, with standards ranging from beginner to Premier Grade. At the end of the Autumn 2019 season, MCC Squash had 12 teams in the finals, with three winning premierships.
Every year the Squash section holds its Annual Dinner in the MCG's Members Dining Room with a fantastic turn out of members, players, families and friends. Each year surpasses the previous in quality food and entertainment.
The section conducts two annual championships
MCC Squash Section Championships - open to all financial members of the Squash section and played in January each year, prior to the Autumn Pennant season.
MCC Members Championships - open to all MCC Members (it is not necessary to be a Member of the Squash section). This is played in July each year, prior to the Spring Pennant season.
