National Sports Museum

Across a multitude of sports, the museum features memorabilia from some of the country’s biggest heroes and highlights moments that have shaped the traditions of Australian sport. The NSM displays:

The museum also boasts other displays of basketball, boxing, netball, soccer, cycling, tennis, golf, Paralympic Games, rugby union, and rugby league.

Experience Lab

Sport and digital technology are set to collide in the National Sports Museum’s Experience Lab, an exciting new interactive gallery inside Gate 3 of the MCG.

Designed for visitors to test, play and react to, there are seven high-tech new installations including virtual tennis, helmet technology, eye-tracking soccer that will change the way visitors see and interact with sport.

School holiday activities

Celebrating all things sport at the MCG for the school holidays, the National Sports Museum runs activities for every school holiday period. A favourite with the kids is gaining exclusive access, behind the scenes and into the player change rooms with AFL and AFLW footballers, as part of our My Matchday at the 'G experience!

GAME ON!

A real fan-favourite located within the museum, inGame On! visitors can test their goal-kicking skills against AFL players, compare cycling speeds and test their reaction times against elite athletes.  With sporting activities ranging from archery to netball, the interactive gallery is the perfect place for visitors of all ages to throw, shoot, ride, race and run to their heart's content!

Visit during event mode - AFL Sunday Fundays

Take advantage of your event ticket (AFL, cricket, etc.) by visiting the museum during event mode, where all ticketholder’s receive 50% off the price of admission. On Sundays, kids are admitted FREE during AFL games in 2018!

Event mode commences when the MCG gates open. The museum then closes just prior to the commencement of the match. Click here for operating hours during event mode.
