The Melbourne Cricket Club is excited to welcome you back into the Members’ Reserve for the 2020 Boxing Day Test. The Club is committed to ensuring the 2020 Boxing Day Test operates in line with relevant Victorian Government COVID-19 guidelines so all patrons can experience the MCG in a safe way while also prioritising members’ access to the Reserve.
To operate within current COVIDSafe guidelines, the Victorian Government at this stage has approved the MCG to operate at approximately 25 per cent of its total capacity for each day of the 2020 Boxing Day Test.
This therefore means the Members’ Reserve will also operate at a reduced capacity of approximately 25 per cent.
Members' access and arrangementsEach day of the 2020 Boxing Day Test will be fully ticketed across the ground including the Members’ Reserve, so every member entering the Reserve will require a pre-booked ticket that includes seating details. Tickets will be issued through a ballot. To ensure our obligations to operate the ground in a COVIDSafe manner can be met, there will be no walk-up opportunity for members during the Test. Only members who have secured seating for a specific day will have their membership card activated for entry. There will be no cost to members when successful in the ticketing ballot with the Club agreeing to pay all associated ticketing fees and costs with Ticketek.
Based on the current Victorian Government capacity restrictions and to provide as many members as possible the opportunity to access the Reserve for the Test, each member will only be able to attend one of the first four days of the Test. To facilitate this, ballots for these days will be conducted on a rolling basis and once a member has been successful in a day’s ballot, they will not be eligible to enter a future ballot up to Day 4. Access arrangements for Day 5, if it occurs, will be advised during the Test.
The following membership categories will be entitled to enter the ballot for Day 1 of the 2020 Boxing Day Test:
- 50-year members
- Full members
- Restricted members
- Annual guest card holders
The ballot to register for tickets to Day 1 of the 2020 Boxing Day Test will be available:
- Monday December 7, 9.00am – 12.00pm AEDT
Note: There will be no visitor tickets available for the first four days of the Test.
