About

A household name within the football community, Peter Daicos uncovers the depths of his life across football, family and heritage in his new book ‘My Family’s Journey’.

Peter’s parents left Macedonia for Australia in the 1950s and built a new life in Melbourne. They worked hard in their adopted country, but Saturdays were a time Peter and his dad spent together, watching South Melbourne play Australian Rules football.

Peter grew to love the game and played his first game for Collingwood in 1979. He went on to become a true giant of the game, retiring in 1993.

MCC members are invited to this special event presented by the Melbourne Cricket Club, in collaboration with Hardie Grant. Hear from Peter as he shares the fascinating history of his sporting family and the moments that shaped him through his early life and football career.
