Sporting Sections

The MCC Baseball Section was established in 1888 and continues to be a strong and vibrant part of the MCC sporting community.

The MCC Bowls Section fields teams in pennant competitions and regularly hosts social bowls events.

MCC Cricket consists of Premier Cricket, XXIX Club and Club XI competitions.

MCC Croquet holds an annual open tournament and encourages players of all ages and abilities from MCC and other clubs to participate.

The MCC Football Club was formed in 2018 to facilitate a women’s team making its debut in the Club’s colours.

The MCC Golf Section welcomes members of all ages and abilities.

The MCC Hockey Section caters to players of all ages and skill levels – from Hockey Victoria's Premier League through to Masters competitions.

MCC currently fields senior and junior teams in Lacrosse Victoria men’s and women’s competitions.

The Melbourne Football Club (MFC) and the MCC have shared a close history since the inception of Australian Football in 1859.

The teams compete in the Parkville Netball Competitions at the State Netball Centre.

The MCC Real Tennis Section is one of only a handful of clubs of its kind in Australia.

The MCC Squash section was founded in 1968 and originally played out of two courts located in the Ponsford Stand at the MCG.

The MCC Shooting Section consists of the Small-bore Rifle Club, Full-bore Rifle Club and Clay Target Club.

The MCC Tennis Section was formed in 1878 and played a key part in the development of lawn tennis in Victoria.

The Hans Ebeling Award was introduced in 1981 to honour those who have given outstanding service to our Sporting Sections.
