Percy Beames Bar

At the heart of the Members' Reserve, the Percy Beames Bar is surrounded by an array of memorabilia from our Club's history, including the clock from the original Members Pavilion.

Located next to the MCC Members' Dining Room and behind the MCC Long Room on Level 2, the floor-to-ceiling windows looking out over Yarra Park provide a picturesque space for members and guests to enjoy a drink or roast beef roll.

The space also features a large screen television so you don't miss a minute of the on-field action, as well as boards highlighting the best Test match figures at the MCG.

About Percy Beames

A brilliant, all-round sportsman, trusted journalist and cheery raconteur, Percy Beames shines brightly in the Melbourne Cricket Club firmament.

His Honorary Life membership, awarded in 1987, acknowledged a broad contribution to club life that most prominently is reflected by his rare achievements as a footballer and cricketer with Melbourne. He captained the Club in both sports, the only man to do so since the VFL was formed in 1897.
