Outcome of the 189th Annual General Meeting

The Melbourne Cricket Club held its 189th Annual General Meeting (AGM) last night, Thursday June 11, 2026, at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, with members attending both in person in the Members' Dining Room and online via CorpVote.
This year, the Club trialled a new question format, enabling members to submit their questions in advance through an online portal. The new format gave more members the opportunity to participate, not just those attending in person or online. It also allowed the Committee and Executive to provide considered responses, visible to the full membership cohort ahead of the AGM. The Club received nearly 200 pre-submitted questions, which have been answered, consolidated and published on the MCC website.
MCC President Fred Oldfield, Treasurer Geoff Roberts and CEO Stuart Fox addressed members in attendance, delivering their reports on the 2025/26 financial year in relation to the latest Annual Report.
Mr Oldfield reflected on an exceptional financial year for the Club and MCG. The venue attracted more than 4.1 million visitors across the year, with outstanding attendances achieved across cricket, AFL and the MCG’s tourism experiences. Highlights included the 2025 AFL Finals Series, the AC/DC Power Up Tour, and the British and Irish Lions Test, which drew the largest Lions crowd ever recorded at the MCG.
He highlighted a range of member experience improvements delivered across the year, including enhancements to dining, new Club events and expanded reciprocal club access. The President also recognised the contributions of the Club's Sporting Sections, Special Interest Groups and the MCC Foundation.
Mr Fox addressed the conclusion of the Club's 2021–2026 Strategic Plan and introduced the new 2026–2031 Strategic Plan, outlining the values and priorities that will guide the Club over the next five years.
He outlined the venue's event pipeline, including the NFL regular-season game at the MCG in September 2026 and the 150th Anniversary Test between Australia and England in March 2027. He also noted progress on the business case to inform a potential redevelopment of the MCG.
