For the men, as well as playing for the premiership at each level (Firsts, Seconds, Thirds and Fourths) in two-day (red ball) and one-day (white ball) cricket, the Club participates for the Cricket Victoria J.A. Seitz Club Championship.
The Club introduced two women's teams at the top level of club competition in 2012 and a third team made its debut in 2015, originally in the Victorian Women's Community competition, before joining the Premier Cricket competition in 2020/21. They play a mix of one-day (limited over) and Twenty20 matches, playing for premierships in both formats of the game.
The MCC has historically been one of the stronger performing men's clubs in Victorian Premier Cricket with a rich history of premiership success across all four grades.
Playing Venues
While the MCC home ground is the MCG, very few Premier Cricket games are played there owing to the heavy national and interstate program.
The MCC men’s First and Second XI and women’s First XI play their home matches at the picturesque Albert Ground, the Club's 'home base' for more than a century. In recent years, the historic Clive Fairbairn Pavilion has been redeveloped, providing a wonderful spot for spectators and players alike to enjoy a days' cricket.
The Club's men’s Third and Fourth XI and women’s Second and Third XI are playing at the outstanding Beaumaris Secondary College playing fields.
