A group of Melbourne Cricket Club (MCC) representatives recently had the opportunity to be part of the Hong Kong Cricket Club’s 175th anniversary, taking part in a cricket tournament that celebrated the clubs' shared passion for the sport.

13 players travelled to compete in the Triangular Tournament, involving MCC, Hong Kong Cricket Club (HKCC) and Marylebone Cricket Club.

The MCC side won all four matches that they competed in, claiming victory in HKCC’s 175th Anniversary Tournament.

The final, played between MCC and HKCC saw the visitors dominant early, before going on to win by 196 runs.

MCC captain Charles Lill was presented the Triangular Tournament Cup by former English batter and patron member of the HKCC, Mike Gatting.

Beyond the results, new connections were established and friendships formed, with representatives expressing their love of the sport and the significance of the relationship that exists among these sporting clubs. Despite the geographical separation, there is strong cohesion and respect between MCC, Hong Kong Cricket Club and Marylebone Cricket Club that will continue to be honoured and cherished for generations to come.
