A comprehensive victory against Essendon Maribyrnong Park has seen the MCC cricket section celebrate its first title of the 2025/26 season, with the Women’s First XI securing a maiden T20 title.

After restricting the opposition to 7/135, a superb innings from Amy Yates with 71 from 54 deliveries helped steer the MCC side to a memorable victory, along with impressive efforts from Hasrat Gill, Erika Quinn and Rhi O’Donnell.

Yates’ innings included 10 fours and 2 sixes to earn her Player of the Match honours, with the side claiming its first T20 title after falling short in seasons 2015/16 and 2017/18.

The Melbourne Cricket Club congratulates the Women’s First XI on becoming Premiers in this format.
