Provisional members get a guided tour of the Reserve

The Melbourne Cricket Club recently welcomed its newest cohort of Provisional members to the Reserve, hosting an induction during the Round 11 AFL match between Collingwood and Waalitj Marawar (West Coast Eagles).

The event gave members a guided introduction to the Reserve, taking in key spaces across the precinct, including the Long Room, before watching Scott Pendlebury break the AFL games record in front of over 90,000 fans.

The afternoon offered them the opportunity to experience the Reserve first-hand and understand what their membership provides on a match day.

Provisional membership is the first step in MCC membership before Restricted and then Full.

Benefits of Provisional membership include:

  • free access to the Members' Reserve for the majority of MCG events, excluding Category 1 matches and the AFL Finals Series
  • access to dining and bar facilities within the Reserve
  • invitations to Club functions
  • free entry to the MCC Museum and MCC Library
  • free MCG Tours and discounted entry to the Australian Sports Museum
  • the opportunity to join MCC Sporting Sections and Special Interest Groups
  • access to MCC Plus, which provides a 5% rebate on food and drinks inside the Reserve.

The MCC Committee this week confirmed the membership intake for the 2026/27 season, which will see Waiting List candidates nominated from May 1, 2009 to March 31, 2010 inclusive offered Provisional membership.

The Club welcomes all new Provisional members and looks forward to seeing them in the Reserve throughout the season.
