Cricket Australia has announced a ticket ballot will be introduced for fans interested in attending the 150th Anniversary Test between Australia and England at the MCG in March 2027.

Fans from all over the world can enter in the ticket ballot from December 23, 2025 to February 6, 2026. The highly anticipated event will take place from March 11–15, 2027.

MCC members will have access entitlements to the Members’ Reserve for the 150th Anniversary Test Match as part of their membership. Further details will be shared with members in 2026.

Announced earlier this year, the 150th Anniversary Test will commemorate the first ever Test match at the ‘G in 1877 and will the be the first men’s day-night Test at the venue.

Melbourne Cricket Club CEO Stuart Fox said it is a privilege to host this event.

“We are honoured to have this opportunity to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the first-ever International Test Match at the MCG,” Fox said.

“This milestone event is a fitting tribute to the rich history of cricket at the 'G and we're sure it will be a memorable occasion for everyone who comes through the gates.”

This comes just over a month before the 2025 Ashes Boxing Day Test, with the long-standing sporting rivalry between Australia and England set to reignite at the birthplace of Test cricket.
