Your guide to MCC functions in 2026

An exciting year of member experiences awaits in 2026, with the MCC’s Club functions calendar delivering something for every member.
From landmark traditions and major sporting moments to relaxed dining and family-friendly events, members can look forward to another outstanding year at the ‘G.

March
March kicks off with the return of football, celebrated in true MCC style at the 2026 Footy Season Launch. A fixture on the Club calendar, this popular event welcomes the AFL season with special guest speakers. Bookings are available now and close Tuesday February 24, unless sold out prior.
The Women of the MCC will celebrate International Women’s Day with a panel discussion and workshop. Bookings are available now and close Wednesday February 25, unless sold out prior.
Looking abroad, a lucky group of MCC members will travel to the Japanese Grand Prix, continuing to expand on the Club’s growing program of member tours.
April
April is a month of tradition and holiday-themed festivities.
Across the Easter period, members can enjoy a range of Easter activations at the ‘G, including children’s activities and a visit from the Easter Bunny in the Reserve during Round 4 matches. The Easter celebrations continue, with an Easter-themed movie and craft activities planned in the Members’ Dining Room.
The Women of the MCC visit the Long Room for Women in Wine, featuring Dexter Wines from the Mornington Peninsula and Tillie J Wines from the Yarra Valley, complemented by a delicious menu by Delaware North.
April also features our first Annual 50-Year Member Lunch for the year, giving eligible members the chance to connect outside of gameday.
May
Reciprocal Club connections take centre stage in May, with a series of reciprocal match day functions planned with fellow iconic institutions, including the Victorian Racing Club and Melbourne Racing Club.
We will host our MCC/MFC Match Day Function on Saturday May 16 as we watch Melbourne take on Hawthorn from the Committee Room.
June
One of the most prestigious events on the MCC calendar, the Norm Smith Oration, returns to honour Australian football. The Oration traditionally features distinguished speakers, reflecting on football’s impact both on and off the field.
June will also feature a series of MCC Library events, with members encouraged to keep an eye out for book launches, author talks and family-friendly readings hosted throughout the year.
July
In early July, the Military Veterans’ Group will bring together members with shared service backgrounds to enjoy lunch in the Reserve.
We will also see the return of the Long Room Wine and Food Society Waitlist Dinner, offering those on the waitlist the opportunity to enjoy a signature dining experience.
August
August features two significant Club traditions with the Annual Bradman Lunch and the New 50-Year Member Lunch, recognising cricketing excellence and significant member milestones.
September
As finals footy takes over, September will see Trumble Bar and Café opened for interstate finals viewings, giving members a place to come together and soak up the atmosphere.
Two of the most anticipated football functions of the year also return. The annual Brownlow Dinner, offering a lively and entertaining take on the AFL’s night of nights, and the Grand Final Eve lunch, allowing members to overlook the hallowed turf as final preparations are made ahead of the Grand Final.
October
Young Members will take centre stage in early October with the return of the Young Members’ Ball. Held in the Members’ Dining Room, this popular event for members aged 18–40 features a delicious menu by Delaware North, a dedicated dancefloor and entertainment.
The Women of the MCC Business Breakfast brings together leading business professionals and special guest speakers for a morning of insight and connection.
Members can also go behind the scenes at the Members’ Progressive Dinner, journeying through the MCG’s inner sanctum while enjoying curated menus and drinks along the way.
Following a successful debut, The Drop-In Dinner returns, offering a premium dining experience while giving members the unique opportunity to watch as our Arenas team prepares the ground for the upcoming summer of cricket.
November
November celebrations begin with Cup Day at the ‘G, as members come together in the Reserve to enjoy lunch, along with guest speakers and a live viewing of the Melbourne Cup.
The Women of the MCC will mark a significant milestone with their 20 Year Gala in the Members’ Dining Room. The evening will feature dining, a dancefloor and entertainment, celebrating two decades of connection and contribution to the Club.
A second Members’ Golf Day will also be held at Yarra Yarra Golf Club, expanding opportunities for members to enjoy Club golf events.
And one of the most prestigious nights on the Club calendar, the annual Members’ Dinner brings members together to celebrate the game of cricket, with special guest speakers and a look ahead to the summer ahead.
December
The year concludes with a full program of festive and summer celebrations.
Once again, members can enjoy Summer at the ‘G, alongside a range of Christmas celebrations, including Christmas Day dining options.
As cricket takes centre stage, we see the return of the Boxing Day Test Breakfast and Women in Cricket Breakfast.
Then, members can see out the year in style with New Year’s Eve at the ‘G, enjoying dining, entertainment and spectacular views of the city’s midnight fireworks.
